Papa and I left for France yesterday morning and arrived in Toulouse early this afternoon. We felt safer on the flights and upon arrival than we have in months. Everyone is required to show their vaccination cards to get on flights and other public transportation in France, as well as to go to restaurants, cinema, and shopping. We saw lots of people lined up at a village church for a funeral, and all were wearing masks.
We came to France to look at real estate. We’re spending a few days driving around, checking out areas and specific properties, before we begin looking with our realtor. We’re enjoying the miles and miles of sunflowers, close to harvest time. We marked two properties off our list today. One needs too much work and is very remote, with no shops nearby and a bad road to get there. The other is in a mid size village that we weren’t crazy about and we didn’t like the house’s view.
We’re staying in Saint-Clar, a sweet hilltop village with arcaded downtown and a centuries old Halle/market and church. We’re staying at https://www.mirandesaint-clar.fr/web/en/, a B and B with delightful Belgian owners.
