Weekend in Prescott

We drove to Prescott on Friday afternoon, after having lunch with Claire’s family in Phoenix, and a great game of Uno with Emerson and Colby.  We arrived in Prescott, at Mary’s house, by 3:30.  We relaxed a bit before dinner, with Mary inviting long time friends, Pam and Stepan over.  We ate dinner outside, and enjoyed the cool of Prescott!

On Saturday morning, we visited two different petroglyph sites, Petroglyph Point and Salida Gulch.  Both sites were nice with lots of petroglyphs.  We hiked about two miles round trip to the Salida Gulch site.  Late in the day, we drove out to Granite Dells for sunset.  It was beautiful!

We hiked again on Sunday morning, on Solstice Mesa, and enjoyed the 360 view of Prescott.  We stopped at Willow Lake, full of ducks and the shores were lined with trees ablaze in fall colors.  We had a nice visit with Mary and made a stop in Phoenix on Sunday afternoon, to watch Emerson play in an ice hockey game, and a quick visit with Colby after he played in a golf tournament.
