We traveled overnight Saturday and all day Sunday, to arrive in Lectoure last evening, around 21h. We were happy to get home! We woke up to cloudy skies and no food, so we went to a boulangerie for coffee and croissants. We stopped in the cathedral on our walk home, to sit and reflect on our trip and our French life. We had the cathedral to ourselves and we felt a sense of “welcome home.”
I worked in my garden after breakfast. Our grape vines are covered in new leaves and heavy with new grapes. I stopped in the Office de Tourisme and reserved a salon for a party in early June. We went to the Intermarché for groceries and felt quite welcomed by the 500 items flagged with red signs, that the grocery offers with a low profit margin. I got a large 32 oz. yogurt, for 1.88 euros. I pay upwards of $4.99 in Tucson. Coffee - 4.99 euros/pound, large 200g chocolate bar with hazelnuts for 1.39 euros, 20 eggs for 4.00 euros, on and on. There are some nice perks of the French way!
Our friends, Deirdre and Vladimir stopped by for a visit with homemade yogurt. Our house watcher, Demelza, came by too. We are grateful to her, that the house was clean, including the windows!
View out our second floor window as I was opening the shutters early this morning.
