We had appointments in Auch this morning, at the Office de Étrangers, where we picked up our Carte de Séjours, our one year residency cards. Actually, we’ll have to renew them in the fall, but we’re grateful to have something to carry in our wallet that makes us feel that we are living in France legally. We also stopped by the Impôts Office, to get our identification number for taxes. It’s always a bit stressful, standing in line, hopeful we have all the forms needed, then trying to get across why we are there, in my limited French. I keep trying!
Auch has a beautiful cathédrale, so we stopped in for a walkabout. A local school was having a games day in front of the cathédrale, so it was impossible to see much of the front. The interior was bathed in light and beautiful.
