At Home

We’ve had quite a busy few days.  I worked in our garden on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.  It is rid of overgrown and plants I no longer wanted.  I’ve walked every day, in different directions, to see what is going on in the village.  Yesterday afternoon, Papa and I walked down the hill a bit to a new park, with new fountain, and sat for a bit.

We invited neighbors Claudie and Lionel for dinner on Friday evening.  We went up to our balcony for a glass of wine, then downstairs for a light dinner.  Claudie brought a delicious dessert.  They own a cheesecake factory and invited us to come for a tour in early June.  Their primary home and factory are a few hours north of Lectoure, so we’re planning a 2-3 day trip to visit some other places along the way.  We had a delightful evening, speaking Franglais, as none of us are fluent in both languages.

Papa and I had coffee with friends on Saturday morning.  Papa went to Bastion Park cafe, and my coffee was in our garden.  Last evening, we took a friend to Chateau Mons for dinner, always a treat.  Chateau Mons was built in 1285 and is surrounded by vineyards, with early spring leaves unfurling over rolling hills.

Papa went to the gym this morning.  I’ll go for my daily walk soon.  We’re having lunch with a friend down our block.  We’re happy to be home in Lectoure!  We are filled with gratitude for this life we live.
