Every Day is a Good Day!

On Saturday, I prepared for dinner two couples we’ve known since our first year in Lectoure, 2022.  Each lives in a small village several kilometers from Lectoure, and we get together often.  While taking a break around 3, I had a text message from friends from a different village, that were in Lectoure and wanted to stop by.  They came a few minutes later, and stayed until 5:15.  We were thrilled to see them!  She is Canadian and he is French.  They spent their winter in Canada and are just back for the summer.

I rushed to take a shower then went back to the kitchen to cook.  I still had most of the dinner to prepare.  Our guests arrived at 6:30.  Papa entertained them in the salon with glasses of wine, while I spent about 30 minutes finishing the cooking and presentation.  We sat down at the table at 7:00 and we talked until 11.  It was an enjoyable evening and wonderful to catch up with friends, while a light rain fell and occasional bolts of lightning and thunder.  This rainbow was a gift around 9:00.

We woke up this morning to see clouds over most of the Pyrenees, with a bit of mountains peaking through.  Beautiful!

This morning, we went to a vide grenier in Castera-Lectourois.  There had been rain earlier in the morning, so there were not as many vendors as in the past.  Castera-Lectourois is a beautiful small village and we walked to the end of the road, to the 14th century cathedral and turned around.  We bought two large casserole dishes for 1 euro each.  A good morning!
