The owner of the home we are planning to buy, invited us for “the passing of the keys,” last evening in her home. We toasted with champagne and she gave us a little porcelain box with “the keys.” This is a symbol that she is going forward with the sale.
We sat in the living room and talked, while having champagne and chocolates together, with the windows open and hot air balloons on the horizon as the sun was setting. Catherine, the owner is a lovely woman. She’s been in the house for 22 years and it isn’t easy for her to think about moving. We talked for over two hours, getting to know each other a bit. It was a really lovely evening.
