Hike on the Chemin de Jacques de Compostelle

This morning was our “housekeeping” day.  We did laundry this morning and hung it on the clothesline.  We went to the grocery.  We returned just after noon and decided to try a restaurant in a nearby village for lunch.  We drove there to find the restaurant was closed this week, but the village, Castet-Arrouy, population of 183, is on the Chemin de Jacques de Compostelle.  We visited the eglise with it’s beautiful hand painted walls and ceiling.  Then we found the Chemin and started walking toward a castle ruin on a nearby hilltop.  The castle ruin was too steep and overgrown to get to, but we had a great time filling our pockets with freshly fallen English walnuts we found along the way.  The views from the Chemin were beautiful in every direction.
