Dordogne

We flew into Bordeaux by early afternoon, rented a car and were on our way by 1.  We drove through Bordeaux wine country, by miles of vineyards and more chateaux than we could count.  We then drove along the Dordogne River the last 60 or so kilometers and to Par la Rivière, our home for the next five nights.  Par la Rivière sits on the Dordogne River just at the bend of La Roque Gageac.  It is a beautiful setting, with hot air balloons passing overhead in late afternoon.  Our friends, Pam and Kenith, arrived around 7 p.m. and we sat out by the pool talking until 10:30.  It’s been a wonderful day!
