We woke up to a lot of snow! We had a big breakfast at the Restaurant Del Lago across the lake from our hotel room. Our server was chatty, telling us he is on a 1 year work visa from India, to work at the Broadmoor. He will return to India in two months, with a good grasp of English, and a whole raft of new skills and experiences. We walked slowly back to our hotel building, after falling on the ice. It was very slippery and absolutely beautiful!
We had things planned for the day, but Colby preferred staying at the hotel. We played games - Skye Jo, Uno, and checkers. We read and played our daily online word games, in front of fire, in a very ornate room. We had a late lunch in the hotel, at their French inspired La Taverna restaurant. Colby had a big steak and ate the whole thing. When making the reservation, there is a box to check if we are celebrating a special occasion. I checked the box that we were celebrating a birthday, so there have been perks both days. Today our server in La Taverna brought Colby a giant piece of chocolate cake, on the house! Yesterday, they brought a tin of nuts and chocolate covered toffee. Colby is lapping it up! We’re having a good time!
