We had a busy weekend. Dominique and Romain, our across the street neighbors, came over for dinner on Friday evening. They brought pizzas and I made Moroccan salad and a fig tart. After dinner we played Skye Jo for hours. We’ve played together several times, and Dominique commented that “we have our own places at the table.” We had fun.
On Saturday, we went to Agen for lunch with our friend Mouss’ family. Mouss was the lead painter on our house project last summer. We were happy to meet his family, and his wife prepared a delicious lunch of couscous with chicken and vegetables, plus several cakes, served with hot sweet tea. We enjoyed every moment with them, and plan to have them come to our house in October.
On Saturday evening, we went to Hilde and Filiep’s for aperitifs, and later we went to dinner together at Gramontines, next to Chateau Gramont. It was a beautiful setting and we enjoyed catching up with Hilde and Filiep. We met them two years ago, when we stayed at their B and B, then later rented it for five weeks while we house hunted in the Gers. They spend winters at their home in Belgium.
I met Caroline on Sunday afternoon at the Terraube Antique Fête. Once a year Chateau Terraube is open to the public for this event, with antique dealers filling the downstairs of the chateau with rooms of antiques. We had fun looking and chatting with various people each of us knew at the Fête.
Caroline and Glyn came for dinner Sunday evening. We had aperitifs on our garden terrace, then had dinner in our library, and coffee on our fourth floor balcony. We talked until after 11. It was a beautiful evening.
