Busy Week

We have had a busy week culturally.  On Wednesday evening, we went to friends Caroline and Glyn's for aperos before going to a concert at Chateau Lavardens - Baroque to Flamenco.  After the concert, everyone was invited inside the chateau's galleries.  The galleries' art was beautiful, but the floors of the chateau were amazing with inlaid stone and brick designs, different in each room.

On Thursday evening, we met our friends, Lesley and Andy at Domaine Pouypardin for dinner.  There was a bit of rain in the air, so the dinner was moved from the terrace of the Domaine inside the winery itself.  We sat at a long table between the wine vats.  It was quite atmospheric!

We went to the Luminous Night Ensemble Dulci Jublio, in Terraube's Eglise Notre-Dame.  The Eglise's interior is beautifully painted.  The concert was excellent, sung a cappella with three encores.

On Saturday, we went to Roques Art Exhibition.  Roques is a tiny village and the artists were spread around the village in various venues.  We really enjoyed talking with several artists plus someone we met at Caroline and Glyn's apero on Wednesday evening.  We also stopped at Lagardère Castle ruin, just outside Roques and dating to the 13th century.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to see Oppenheimer.  It was very well done, a must see film.  Afterward, we went to a Jazz Concert in Marrioners Parc in Lectoure, behind the Mairie.  We sat with our neighbors, Romain and Dominique and Dominique's brother and wife.  About forty minutes into the concert, a light rain started to fall, so we called it a night!
