When in Blaziert a month ago, I took a photo of a poster, announcing a fete on 3 Juillet. I made a reservation for us to go to their soirée.
We went to Blaziert’s soirée after a busy day of vide greniers in Lectoure, Plieux, and Pouy Roquelaure. I bought a basket, a succulent, and storage containers in Pouy Roquelaure, where we had lunch, and talked with several people we had met before. We rarely go anywhere without running into people we know. We arrived in Blaziert a few minutes before the soirée was to start. Everyone was scurrying about, as it seemed rain was imminent. Men moved tables from outside to inside the Salle du Fete. We had sangria and aperitifs in the open air school entrance. Once again, we met people we had talked with before and friends of new friends in Lectoure. They invited us to sit with them and we enjoyed dinner of paella, a cheese course, and ice cream for dessert. The president of the community made remarks and mentioned us - from Arizona in the United States at their fête soirée of about 100 people. We couldn’t have had a better time, and we came home with several email addresses, to stay in touch.
