Today was our third day working on our new home in Lectoure. There were three painters the past two days, Adriana (Romanian), and Mousa and Mohammed (Moroccan). All three are happy and helpful. They play fun music all day, and work hard from 8-3. They have a half hour+ drive each way to Lectoure. Three more painters arrived today, John, Angie, and Stepan, all French, and specialists. John is the son of Pascal, our paint contractor. Stepan is Pascal’s brother. John worked on windows and grills. Stepan hung wallpaper in a hallway with walls that needed more definition, and Angie helped Stepan then sanded walls and prepped them for paint. Everybody was hard at work all day. Papa and I have fun trying to talk with them, and they are constantly wanting to be helpful to us. Mohammed did one of the chores Dale planned to do, and it took him about ten minutes including dealing with electric wire. We were grateful! They are a good bunch!
Mousa painted around the atrium window in the stairwell today. He and Mohammed uncovered it yesterday. The atrium window was covered for the last 20 years, and we didn’t know it was there, and how much light it would bring to the center of the house.
