Due to the time change of nine hours, it made for a very long two days of travel from Tucson to Lectoure. The last leg was particularly difficult because we checked bags and had to retrieve them for customs in Paris, then recheck to Toulouse. All our bags were heavy and we got flagged, so had to go back through the bag checking process with our carry on bags! Alas, we arrived at TLS by 3. I called the car lease company, and they were waiting for us when we got to the exit door. We picked up a new Renault and within 10 minutes were on our way. By leasing for six months, our car rental including full coverage insurance comes to $425/month. It was a terrific deal!
We arrived in Lectoure by 5, after a detour in Gimont to our favorite antique store. We’re staying at Hotel College des Doctrinaires, redone a couple of years ago, and across the street from the spa. https://www.doctrinaires.fr/en/. We dropped our bags at the hotel and walked to our house. We’ll pick up keys tomorrow morning, so we could only take a look at the outside, with some shutter paint completed and more to go, along with exterior doors. Our renovation work begins tomorrow!
