On Friday evening, we went to a concert at Église Saint-Laurent de Fleurance, to hear the choral group, Gesauldo Six. They are an award-winning British vocal ensemble, committed to music education, and performing all over the world. Église Saint-Laurent was built in the 15th-16th centuries and the acoustics are exceptional. We enjoyed the concert, sitting with friends that happened to have arrived before us.
On Saturday evening, we went to a choral concert at Église Saint-Madeleine in Castera-Lectourois. It was performed by a local ensemble who practice together regularly and play a few concerts a year in the Église of Castera-Lectourois. The Église was built in the 15th century and renovated over the past 25 years. The concert was a mix of 17th-20 century sacred music and well done.
