We attended our second Blaziert Summer Fête Dîner last evening. We went last year, had a wonderful time and made several friends. Blaziert is a tiny, pristine, one street village. My ranch photos have been on exhibit there for two weeks, and we met even more local people at the vernissage, opening night, of the exhibition.
Last night was another wonderful experience. For the villagers, it was a full day that began at 10 h, with a hike in the countryside, and a picnic at 13h. In the afternoon they played games and had a pétanque competition. People started gathering at 19h for wine, at the Bla-Blaziert Cafe, where my photos are still on exhibit. We knew several people and met more. Everyone moved to the street for dinner at 20h, with the long table set with sunflowers, baguettes, and small bundles of lavender. Dinner was served by the villagers - 1/2 melons grown locally with ham, canard with prune sauce over pasta, and fruit tarts of the season ( ours were strawberry and peach). Every course was delicious. The cost was 16€ per person. We left at 23h, and many people were still at the table talking. We had a good time!
