Papa and I enjoyed Saint-Jean-de-Luz, with its pedestrian friendly shopping, beautiful beach, architecture, and history. We stayed at Les Almadies, a very nice small hotel in the center of the village. I got up early yesterday morning, and went for a walk along the beach and up the hill to a lookout point. The Pyrénées are the backdrop for Saint-Jean-de-Luz. At 7 in the morning, trash was being picked up, the beach was being raked. Everyone was working to make Saint-Jean-de-Luz an appealing destination. They succeeded with us!
