Musée d’Orsay

We had lunch after visiting the Louvre, then walked a block to Musée d’Orsay.  Built on the Left Bank of the Seine, it is in the former Gare d’Orsay, a Beaux-Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900.  It holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914.  We enjoyed seeing lots of Monet, Renoir, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Pisarro, Matisse, and more.  So many pieces of art that we have seen copies of and recognize, it was a treat to see the originals.  We enjoyed every moment!
