Mt. Etna

Going to Mt. Etna is a "must do" when we are so close, so off we went yesterday morning.  Getting to the top craters takes more time and energy than we were willing to spend with a 5 and 7 year old, so we opted to visit several craters below the summit.  There has been volcanic activity on Mt. Etna for hundreds of thousands of years.  It spews steam constantly.  We drove as far as we could, then explored several craters with Emerson and Colby leading the way.  We hiked up and down and picked up Mt. Etna rocks to take home.  It was an unforgettable experience!
We all enjoyed time at our hotel/guesthouse, in a lemon grove, with Emerson and Colby picking lots of lemons and oranges.  They even made orange juice.
