Over the past week, we have had various meals with friends, getting together one last time in our 2025 stay in Lectoure. Last Wednesday, Susan and Anling came for a quick lunch of cheese toasts, fruit and chocolate - leftovers from our wine and chocolate soirée the night before. Thursday, Abby came for dinner of beef stew and couscous, and I took a plate to Deirdre who was feeling a bit under the weather. On Friday, we had champagne with Pirkko and Nelson in their garden, and walked across the street to The Bastard Restaurant for lunch. On Saturday, we had apéros with Bea and Nick in their garden. We enjoyed cheese fondue with Johani and Pieter, Isabel, Nicolai, and Johana on Sunday, and had a tour of their home, a block from ours. On Monday evening, we had apéro dînatoire with a Gersois dinner of duck, at Cristina’s home with Annie, Veronique, and Jean-Yves.
Last evening, Tuesday, we had dinner at Alice and Gerard’s, along with Deirdre and Abby. We enjoyed apéros on their terrace at sunset then had a multi course Moroccan/French dinner with couscous, chicken, and lots of vegetables, a cheese course and sorbets with homemade cookies for dessert. Alice and Gerard are neighbors, just a couple doors from us, and we see each other often. Alice is my “go to friend,” for a teaspoon of dill, platters, bowls, and more for entertaining, plus great hugs! We had a great time last evening! We love our life in Lectoure!
