Day 3 in Old San Juan

Soon after breakfast, we gathered our laundry and too it to a nearby laundromat.  The attendant assured us our laundry would be ready for us today, and that she would call with updates.  Papa and I set off on a walk along the rempart walls.  About half way around the peninsula, she called to tell us there was a problem.  We walked back as quickly as we could to find that the power had gone off in the laundromat, with our clothes in the washing machine.  There was nothing we could do but wait.  We went for lunch at Casa Luna, and had the best meal of our stay in San Juan!  After lunch, we stopped in the laundromat and the attendant assured us again she would call with updates, but she didn’t expect our clothes would be ready before tomorrow morning, since the dryers were not working.  We spent the afternoon listening to live Christmas music - sung by a talented young local man in a public park, and enjoying yummy paletas.

We’re hopeful to pick up our “dry” clothes tomorrow before we board our cruise.
