Rain of the Past Days

Over the past two weeks, the southwest of France has received several inches of rain, considerably more than usual. The remnants of two named weather events, Ciaran and Domingos. Both storms caused massive damages and death across Europe, so we consider Lectoure quite lucky. For us, it was just cold and damp, with gray skies, my least favorite weather.

I took this photo on Sunday when there was a break in the clouds. The Gers river is out of its banks and agricultural fields are under water. The sun was shining yesterday and there’s a clear sky today. The water will soak in and everyone will get back to life as usual.
