Hiking Amidst the Wildflowers of Catalina State Park

Southern Arizona has had the wettest winter since 2005 and one of the coolest winters in decades.  Those two factors seem to be a recipe for a magnificent display of wildflowers.  We hiked close to four miles in Catalina State Park this morning, oohing and ahhing over the poppies, lupine, ocotillo, fairy duster, and other unknown pink, white, and purple flowers.  Sutherland Wash was still running, at least a month since our last visit to the Park.  Prickly pear and cholla are full of buds, horny toads and butterflies were out and about.  We enjoyed every moment!
