At 7 p.m. last evening, we drove the short distance to La Roque Gageac and strolled along the river, then climbed up onto the narrow streets of the cliff side village. An ancient troglodyte fortress was built at La Roque Gageac, dating back thousands of years, and continually added upon until the 17th century. The cliff provides protection from cold weather, so that tropical plants are growing in the gardens along the way. It was a perfect evening for a stroll!
