On our return from Rancho de la Osa on Tuesday afternoon, we stopped at Mission San Xavier del Bac, aka White Dove of the Desert. We last visited San Xavier in April 2017 and I wrote about it here. It is one of my favorite places in the Tucson area. San Xavier was built around 1700, so it is one of the oldest churches/buildings in the area. It is beautiful, inside and out, and it is sacred, a place to stop and give thanks. Just in front of San Xavier, we treated ourselves to fresh fry bread, made by a local Tohono O'odham woman. A nice way to end our two day trip!
