Several weeks ago, Papa and I were invited to a local Rotary Club lunch. One of the topics was hosting Ukrainien children orphaned by the war, for two weeks. Papa and I made a contribution. We were invited last evening to a celebration in Bastion Park, with the children, other donors, and Rotary Club members, at the end of the children’s two week stay in Lectoure. They have been treated to field trips and events every day - from fishing to museums, a water park to hikes in the Pyrenees. The photos from the first days of their arrival to last evening, told a story of faces with an inkling of relief from the terror they live through in Ukraine. The kids mingled with everyone, serving food and communicating as best they could. It was an interesting and thoughtful evening for us. We have much to be grateful for.
