Papa and I were up and out biking along the Rio Grande by 6:30 this morning. We saw dozens of hot air balloons lifting up along the way. We went back to Los Poblanos for a hearty breakfast. We left Albuquerque by 10 on our drive north. We passed several historic Pueblos and drove up through red rocks along the Jemez River through the village of Jemez Springs and to the magnificent grassy valley of Valle Grande in Valles Caldera National Preserve. We drove through Los Alamos and then to Española, where we ate lunch and picked up our groceries.
By 3, we arrived at our home for the next two weeks, overlooking Abiquiu Lake and surrounding landscape. It was a hot day but things cooled off by evening. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed time on the patio. We have lots to explore over the coming days!
