There has been a haze over Tucson for several days. We have had rather hot and dry weather for a couple of weeks, but the haze obscures the views of mountains in the distance as well as nearby. While listening to the local news last evening, the meteorologist said, "Smoke from wildfires in the Pacific Northwest is affecting several western states, including Arizona. High pressure parked over the Great Basin has been drawing in the smoke over the last several days." That explains it! Those fires are 1500 miles away and still having an impact on our atmosphere.
